Hugh was one of my favorite characters from the The Traitor's Wife, and I hope you'll enjoy his and Bess's story.

I'm pleased to announce that The Traitor's Wife has been named as one of 15 finalists in the Historical Fiction category of ForeWord Magazine's 2005 Book of the Year Awards. According to ForeWord's website, the awards were established to "bring increased attention from librarians and booksellers to the literary achievements of independent publishers and their authors. A jury of librarians, booksellers and reviewers . . . select winners and finalists based on editorial excellence and professional production as well as the originality of the narrative and the value the book adds to its genre."
Of 1,540 book submissions, 604 finalists in 55 categories were chosen. Winners will be announced on May 19, 2006.
